Kalimba Spirits: Learn Kalimba

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026

Kalimba Spirits: Learn Kalimba (“the App”) is made by DAT PHAM VAN, an independent developer. This policy explains what the App does with your data. The short version: there are no accounts, your lessons and recordings stay on your device, and the only third party involved is Google AdMob, which shows ads to people on the free version.

01

What stays on your device

Everything you make in the App is stored only on your iPhone or iPad. We never receive it and have no server that could store it.

  • Lesson progress, stars, completed songs and practice history
  • Your settings, such as Lumi’s color, effect colors, note labels and sound
  • Videos you record of your playing

The App does not ask for your name, email or any account, and it does not use analytics or crash-reporting services. If you choose to share crash data with developers in iOS settings, Apple may pass anonymous crash reports to us under Apple’s Privacy Policy.

02

Recording and Photos

When you record, the App captures its own stage picture and the sound of the kalimba it plays. It does not use your microphone or camera.

If you save a video, the App asks for permission to add items to your Photo Library. This permission only lets the App save new videos; it cannot see or read your existing photos.

03

Notifications

If you start a free trial, the App may ask to send you one notification a day before the trial ends, so you are not charged by surprise. The reminder is scheduled on your device. You can turn notifications off anytime in iOS Settings.

04

Subscriptions

Kalimba Spirits Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription sold through Apple’s App Store. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details. The App only reads your purchase status from Apple (StoreKit) to unlock Pro on your device.

A subscription may start with a free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current period ends, it renews automatically at the price shown before you subscribe. You can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID settings under Subscriptions.

05

Advertising

The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Pro subscribers see no ads. Some ads are optional: you can choose to watch one to try a Pro song or color.

To show ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect:

  • The Advertising Identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking in Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt
  • Approximate location based on your IP address
  • Device information, such as model, iOS version and language
  • Ad interactions, such as impressions and taps

If you decline tracking, you still get ads, but they are not personalized. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and other regions where it is required, the App shows Google’s consent form before any ads load. You can change your choice later in the App under Settings → Ad privacy choices.

The App does not use ad mediation, so no other ad networks are involved. Google handles this data under its own policies: How Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

06

Children

The App is a general-audience music app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has shared personal information through the App, please contact us and we will help.

07

Deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device, deleting the App removes your progress, settings and in-app recordings. Videos you saved to Photos stay there until you delete them. Your subscription is tied to your Apple ID, so it is restored when you reinstall the App and tap Restore Purchases.

08

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to its use. We do not hold any personal data about you ourselves. For data used for advertising, you can use the choices described above or contact Google directly. We do not sell personal information.

09

Terms of Use

The App is provided under Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. The kalimba sounds come from public-domain (CC0) recordings, and the songs in the App are either in the public domain or written for the App.
